A two-piece teak unit from BDM, manufactured in Brande, Denmark — maker's label intact on the back of the lower unit. The lower chest holds eight drawers in two columns, fitted with turned solid teak knobs and a working brass lock and key on the upper-left drawer. Drawer boxes are dovetail-joined and slide without resistance.
The upper bookcase hutch rests on top of the chest and separates for transport. It contains two open display shelves and a row of two shallow pull-out drawers along the interior shelf — practical for documents, writing tools, or small flat items. The hutch's side uprights have a gently rounded profile at the top corners, a detail typical of quality Danish production from this period.
The teak surfaces are well-maintained overall. It is in near pristine vintage condition with only minor wear. Structurally sound and no major flaws. All drawers are clean and slide perfectly.

They were known for their clean lines and high quality wood work, and exported predominantly to France and the USA before shutting their doors in the late 1960s. A highly sought after maker of some of the best in Danish modern design.
